Patrick Solomon began learning something about leather out of necessity — he was working with horses and in need of repairs. Tinkering eventually led to Patrick starting to build his own equipment & tack. Blackheart Leather was started in Patrick’s barn in Victor, ID to help others who were looking for repairs and tack. Still run out of the barn, Blackheart Leather builds pieces for people who work with horses or those who want quality leather goods. While it is a one-man show, Blackheart Leather is proudly supported by two shag dogs who hang in the shop and Patrick’s wife Liz who has graciously signed on as a product tester. Patrick still spends time working in the saddle using the gear he designs and makes.
